Food: Pahari / Vegan Meals and More
We have an in-house menu should you want to order breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Pahari Meals: We offer Pahari meals on special order. Kindly give advance notice to the chef for any Pahari meal.
One can take the Shatabdi Train to Kalka from New Delhi. Then a connecting Toy-Train from Kalka to Shimla. Or one can do the Kalka-Shimla journey in a cab (Ola works too). Volvo bus service from New Delhi is also another good option. (Please check Himachal Bhavan for timings ph: 0172 263 8285.
New low cost New Delhi -Shimla flights were introduced in 2017. Kindly check with your travel agent for details.
When you enter Shimla take the road via Chotta Shimla. This road meanders through a forest and goes by St. Bedes College from where the house is about 800 meters away. Its on the Engine Ghar road in Sanjauli.
The house is over 2 kms from The Mall (via Snowdon Hospital). A cab will take about 5 minutes to The Mall.
House Rules
- We have a strict NO NOISE policy. No noise should reach outdoors please. For this reason kindly keep the doors and windows firmly shut at all times. This will also keep the nosy Rhesus monkeys and insects at bay. Kindly do not play loud music after 8 p.m. Our guests come for tranquillity and Shimla residents are not fully accustomed to noisy travellers, so kindly maintain the decorum of the place . Security deposit of 20 thousand is mandatory and will de deducted against any breakages, violation of house-rules, esp our no-noise policy.
- Smoking is allowed in the balconies only. Should you want to smoke in the evening (post 8 p.m.), kindly ensure that you do not talk loudly in the balconies.
- We would be grateful if guests adhere to the Check Out time (11 a.m.), especially when we have a reservation that day. Please remember breakfast will be served till 10 a.m. only. We would however be happy to offer a late checkout wherever possible. Kindly check with the caretaker about late checkouts.
- We would expect our guests to switch off all electricals, especially radiator heaters, when not in the room.
- No outside guests or visitors allowed please.

Covid-19 Guidelines
1)We have segregated spaces for all guests so kindly do not venture into any common areas. The guests would not be expected to linger on the stairs (for photos etc ) while entering and exiting the building.
2) There will be extra bed-linen, towels etc kept in your room for the duration of your stay. There will be no room-service (changing linen, room cleaning) or any other housekeeping task by which physical distancing is compromised.
3)Kindly ensure that everyone including kids are wearing masks on arrival and departure. Kindly do not linger on the main road (for photos etc) during departure or arrival.
4)Guests are expected to sanitize their hands at the sanitiser at the gate, before entering the building.
5)We would prefer if you come with a Covid-19 negative certificate from a certified lab.
6)All guests including children will be thermally scanned during checkin. If a guest is running temperature , he shall be referred to the designated medical facility. The booking will be cancelled and the guest refunded fully.
(Please remember you are coming to a Green-zone. Hope you will appreciate that for your safety and ours, we have to follow the Covid-19 guidelines strictly.
Cancellations
Cancel up to 7 days before check in and get a 50% refund (applicable only if full payment is made)
Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable.
Partial payments are refundable only if cancellation is done one month before the check in date.
